Evolution’s Muay Thai program is designed so that everybody can use it. Students who are looking for a great way to get in and stay in shape will find that our Muay Thai class is a perfect alternative to the same old gym routine. For the students who would like to fight MMA or competitive Thai boxing matches, you will not be disappointed either. Basic kicks, punches, elbow strikes, knee strikes, blocks and the clinch are all key elements of Muay Thai, and will be covered throughout the program. These classes are safe, fun, and informative. Conditioning also plays a large role in becoming a successful Thai fighter. Our classes are full of proven drills and cardio exercises to help challenge every type of athlete. WHAT: Muay Thai is an assertive and aggressive marital art where students learn from the first down proper warm ups and safety while drilling and sparing. The breakdown of each hour and a half class is as follows:
15 minutes warm up
30 minutes drills (shadow boxing, bag work, pad work…)
15 minutes core
30 minutes sparing drills and sparing
WHO: Muay Thai focuses on everything from the beginner levels all the way up to competition level, and it depends on each individual as to how far you take it. It is for this reason that you will find our kickboxing and boxing members on the mats at the same time working on their fundamentals.
The primary coach that you will see in class will be head striking coach, Jim Baglioni, but you could see one of his assistant coaches, Jeremy Schwisow or Kelsi Kazmierczak.
WHEN: The morning programs consists of 9:00am classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The evening classes are Monday and Wednesday at 6:00pm then Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30pm. Saturday there is a class that is for all ages and all levels starting at 12:00pm.
