Sparring (commonly referred to as ‘rolling’) and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition.
Evolution’s BJJ class will cover all aspects of sport Jiu Jitsu, No-Gi grappling and ground fighting techniques used in Mixed Martial Art events as well as self-defense.
Our classes focus on the details of BJJ techniques from basic positioning, to takedowns and submissions.
WHAT: BJJ classes are designed go give you a rigorous workout that activates your body and your mind simultaneously. As each individual learns more they begin to realize how Jiu Jitsu is like a game of chess, and they must plan and strategize their movements. Classes run for an hour and a half where it is broken down as follows:
15 minutes warm up
15 minutes drilling
30 minutes instruction
30 minutes rolling
WHO: Each class will have a range of experienced individuals ranging form the first day white belt through the advanced black belts.
Instructors can be any of the following:
WHEN: We have 7:00am classes each week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The 10:00am classes are offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (No Gi) and Thursday as well as at Saturday class at 10:30am. The evening classes are 6:00pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and 7:30pm on Monday and Wednesday. Sunday is just a rolling class that begins at 5:00pm.
